PROGRAMS
Our programs work together WEST SUPPORT to create initiatives to fight for democratic values. Each program is aimed at solving our main goals - the protection of civil, political, economic, social and cultural human rights, which have been identified as the basic needs of our society. Together, our programs impact people's lives every day.
Election Observation

The Election Observation Program works globally to support democratic elections and strengthen participatory democracy, consistent with human rights. The overarching objective is to enhance democratic governance and increase effective political participation for all, especially groups that have been historically disadvantaged or that face political, cultural, or socioeconomic barriers. This includes women, racial and ethnic minorities, indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, youth, elderly people, and other marginalized groups.
Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine
A special monitoring mission in Ukraine was sent after a statement about the emergence of violations of International Humanitarian Law in the territories that suffered from the Russian-Ukrainian war. Observers should help reduce tensions and promote peace, stability and security. The Mission will collect information and report on the security situation, establish and report facts in response to specific incidents, including those relating to alleged violations of basic human rights principles and obligations.

CLEARING LANDMINES
AND EXPLOSIVES

We make land safe by clearing landmines and other explosives, such as IEDs (improvised explosive devices), so families torn apart by conflict can return and rebuild their lives in safety.
Once the mines are gone, confidence is restored. Minefields become fields of crops. Battlefields become playgrounds. Fear turns to hope and life begins again. Clearing landmines is a painstaking process. Most of our clearance work is done by hand but sometimes the terrain and nature of the debris makes clearing with machines more practical.
